How do I book and where do we meet?

Reservations are required for all Barcelona Glides Tours and can be made online here or by phone via the following number +34 935 504 873. All tours start at Carrer d’En Groc 2, in the Gothic Quarter.

How long is the tour?

The most popular tours typically last about 2-3 hours (including the safety training).

How far in advance do I need to reserve?

You can always check if there are places available on the same day. However it is quite possible that the tours will be full. We suggest you reserve as much in advance as you can to secure your desired date and tour time.

Are Segway® PT safe for people with disabilities?

Riding a Segway® PT is relatively easy to do and learn. Even kids can do it (take a look for the next question). The riders should have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance. The Segway® PT is not appropriate for those weighing under 35 kg (77 lbs) or over 130 kg (280 lbs). Each of our tours begins with a 10-minute training session in the square next to our office. We will practice on the Segway® PT so that everyone feels comfortable and ready to go out and conquer Barcelona.

What is a minimum age to drive a Segway in Barcelona?

By the local regulations in Barcelona, all the Segway PT riders also as drivers of eScooters should be at least 16 years of age. If you have kids 10-15 y.o. we can offer an e-bike instead, so you can go on tour together. The price of the tour remains the same. We are sorry, but there are not exceptions for the minimal age, this is the Law.

In another cities where we also operate segway tours, like Lisbon, Prague and Budapest, there are no such age restrictions.

What is the Segway Personal Transporter?

The Segway Personal Transporter (Segway® PT ) is the first ever self-balancing, electric-powered transportation device. With dimensions no larger than the average adult body and the ability to emulate human balance, the Segway® PT uses the same space as a pedestrian, and can go wherever a person can walk.

How does the Segway® PT work?

Dynamic stabilization is the essence of the Segway® PT. Dynamic stabilization enables the Segway® PT to work seamlessly with the body’s movements. Gyroscopes and tilt sensors in the unit monitor a rider’s centre of gravity at about 100 times a second. When the rider leans slightly forward, the Segway® PT moves forward. When the rider leans slightly back, the Segway® PT moves backward.

How safe is the Segway® PT ?

The utmost care and research has gone into ensuring that the Segway® PT is safe. The Segway® PT ’s balancing technology is truly revolutionary and provides an exceptional riding experience. The Segway® PT has redundant systems and sophisticated alerts built into its design, and many thousands of hours of use have demonstrated that the Segway® PT is safe when used appropriately. It is important that Segway® PT riders understand their responsibility to ride safely. Proper skill level and understanding of the Segway® PT prevents injuries caused by loss of control or misuse. Are the tours cancelled in case of rain? Yes, we do stop if it rains. Gliding under the rain is not half as fun as on sunny days. We will do our best to find an alternate day. Of course, it is not your fault if it rains, so deposit money will be refunded in case of rain.

How to turn on a Segway ?

The Segway PT operates by a key, called infokey. This is electronic remote controller with a display and 4 buttons. It is programmed on factory to exact segway by a serial number, and can not start another segway. If the infokey was lost, only special dealers can program a new infokey. Also, the infokey could be saved and restored by our partner infokey safe.
